November 15 is my mother’s birthday, Ana Emyse. And today AnyTa, version 0.1.0-alpha.1, is released to the world for the first time.
It is no coincidence. I wanted its first day to be hers.
Everything I am, I owe to my parents. They gave me life, and then they taught me how to live it: with effort, patience and love. Much of what I do began in what they gave me long before I knew how to thank them.
I also owe my mother the name of this project. AnyTa comes from Anita, the affectionate diminutive we use for her. Every time someone opens the program and types her name, her name will be there, stitched into every stitch.
Thank you, Mom, for everything. Happy birthday.
With love, for Anita.
